At wheel.me we are aiming to help people improve the way they live and work by enabling "everything" indoors to move effortlessly on smart wheels. We have invented the first and only autonomous wheel in the world, and now we want you to join our team. We are expanding globally and are seeking a Network Deployment Engineer to join us in our Newlab @ Michigan Central's Detroit office. This role will be split up into two main responsibilities: 50% DevOps and 50% Network Engineering.

What you will be doing at wheel.me

• Ensure the network requirements are in place at customer sites to ensure successful deployment of our robots
• Assist deployment teams with network-related issues on on-prem servers to ensure successful onsite implementation
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues with robots, regarding network ports, firewall, network interaction and robot host operating system (Linux) on-prem
• Professionally communicate customer-side network issues related to throughput, latency, and authentication
• Set up the network monitoring for on-prem systems to identify network issues.
• Run network assessments to assess strength and access using Ubuntu Linux Focal systems
• Develop integrated tools for on-site network assessments and audits for on-prem systems
• Collaborate with internal team to identify needs, monitor performance, and diagnose and resolve issues with AMRs and supporting systems on-prem and cloud (AWS)
• Manage and maintain cloud based infrastructure (IAAC)
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for network infrastructure changes

What you should bring to wheel.me

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• 3+ years of experience with network infrastructure setup and configuration both on-prem and AWS
• Advanced network security configurations with good understanding of SSL certificates.
• Well-versed knowledge with Linux based OS, network ports, firewall, and network interaction
• Experience with Bash, Docker, and other basic services in AWS
• Self-motivated attitude with independent problem solving skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines
• Effective internal and external communication skills to collaborate with colleagues and customers

It would also be nice if you…

• Have experience with ROS or Ansible
• Have extensive experience troubleshooting robotics systems in industrial environments
